Chelsea defender Niamh Charles has been withdrawn from the England squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers due to a calf injury.

The 24-year-old was selected by Sarina Wiegman for the Lionesses’ qualifying matches against France - with the first taking place at St. James’ Park on Friday before the reverse fixture in Saint-Etienne next Tuesday - but has now been withdrawn from the camp.

The Blues will be represented in the England squad by Hannah Hampton, Millie Bright, Jess Carter, Lauren James and Aggie Beever-Jones.
