For the second month in a row, Morgan Rogers has received the Chelsea Goal of the Month award.
Since joining the Blues from Aston Villa in the summer, Rogers has now won two of the three Goal of the Month awards available, including the last two in a row.
That has come during a brilliant start to his Chelsea career, which has seen him become the first Blues player – and only the second across the entire Premier League – to reach ten goal involvements (six goals, four assists) in all competitions this season.
His two award-winning goals showed very different qualities, too. In September, it was for his instinctive volley into the bottom corner from the edge of the box away at Arsenal.
This time around, he finished top of the October poll thanks to his opener against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, taking the ball from Romeo Lavia near the centre-circle and driving forward through the heart of the defence and into the box, before lifting a composed finish over the keeper.
It was a tight race for the October Goal of the Month award, though. Jordan Henderson’s first Chelsea goal, swept in against Bournemouth, came second with 34 per cent of the votes, while the midfielder’s free-kick scored later in the same game was a distant third.
However, it is Rogers who triumphs for the second month in a row by receiving 39 per cent of supporters’ votes on the Chelsea Official App.
Congratulations again, Morgan!
