Oriane Jean-Francois was delighted to help the Blues to a 3-1 win over Leicester City in her first Women's Super League start for Chelsea.
The French midfielder was named in her first starting XI in the league this season as Sonia Bompastor's side returned to winning ways against the Foxes, with Catarina Macario, Aggie Beever-Jones and Erin Cuthbert netting at Kingsmeadow.
To be given the nod by Bompastor was a just reward for Jean-Francois, who came off the bench at half-time in last Sunday's draw with Brighton & Hove Albion and impressed in the middle of the park.
'I'm happy,' Jean-Francois said after the win against Leicester. 'I'm happy with the win and the start because after the draw against Brighton, we showed a good reaction and had a good game.
'It's not easy when you're not playing because I'm a competitive player and want to play every single game, but I'm happy to be able to help the team. We have a busy month to come so I'm glad I can come in and help.'
Despite it being her first WSL start since joining Chelsea last summer, it was a confident display from the 23-year-old, but she insists there is even more to come from her.
'I'm never satisfied,' Jean-Francois added. 'I think there is always room for improvement.
'I'm happy we got the win and with how the team played because it will bring us confidence for the next games coming up.'
It was important to get back to winning ways against Leicester, Jean-Francois explains, as we look to build momentum going into a busy month where the Blues will feature in four competitions once again.
Up next for Bompastor's side is an FA Cup quarter final clash against Crystal Palace at Kingsmeadow on Sunday afternoon.
'We are in a positive dynamic,' the midfielder said. 'We are feeling confident and, hopefully, we can just keep getting better game after game.'
