Oscar signed for Chelsea on this day in 2012 and went on to score a series of spectacular goals for the club. To mark the 13th anniversary of the Brazilian’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, we pick out some of our favourites.

The attacking midfielder joined newly crowned European champions Chelsea from Internacional as a fresh-faced 20-year-old on 25 July 2012.

He was something of an unknown, having only played in his homeland Brazil before and scoring his first international goal the previous month, although he did impress at that summer’s Olympic Games in Britain.

Oscar went on to score 38 goals in 203 appearances for the Blues before departing for China in January 2017, helping us win the UEFA Europa League in his first season in London, then both the Premier League and League Cup two years later.

He also built a reputation as a scorer of great goals, winning the Chelsea Goal of the Season award on two occasions, and here are some of our favourites from the Brazilian…

Chelsea 2-2 Juventus, Champions League, 2012/13

To score twice on your full debut is something of a dream start. For one of those strikes to win Goal of the Season is bordering on ridiculous. Yet that is exactly how Oscar announced himself to the Stamford Bridge faithful back in September 2012.

Found by Ashley Cole, but with his back to goal, in a split second Oscar spun away from two Juventus shirts to create space on the edge of the box, before curling a stunning strike past Gianluigi Buffon into the top corner.

Chelsea 3-2 Shakhtar Donetsk, Champions League, 2012/13

The goals kept coming for Oscar in his debut Champions League campaign. He gave us the lead for the second time in this end-to-end thriller, with his countryman and future Blues team-mate Willian netting twice for Shakhtar.

It may not have been the winner, but it was Oscar’s goal which lives long in the memory. It was an awkward clearance by Shakhtar keeper Andrey Pyatov, but he got enough distance on it to feel safe. That was until our No11 controlled it on his chest and lobbed him from miles out with a pinpoint half-volley.

Brentford 2-2 Chelsea, FA Cup, 2012/13

Oscar would score again as we eventually triumphed 4-0 in a replay at the Bridge, but his best came in the first game of this dramatic FA Cup fourth-round tie.

Bringing down the ball with an incredible touch just outside the box but facing away from goal, the Brazilian spun away from one defender, shuffled past another into the area and poked a brilliantly improvised early finish which caught the keeper off guard to find the back of the net.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea, Premier League, 2014/15

Oscar had already shown his prowess from set-pieces, including one very similar goal against Stoke City the previous season, but this was arguably the pick of his free-kicks, arriving just six minutes in as we made it seven wins from eight Premier League matches.

From the moment Willian was brought down on the right, Oscar knew what he was going to do, going against convention from that position by curling an effort over the wall and into the top-left corner, wrong-footing the keeper. He then combined brilliantly with Cesc Fabregas for the Spaniard to net the winning goal.

Chelsea 2-1 Queens Park Rangers, Premier League, 2014/15

This hard-fought win over stubborn opposition sent us four points clear at the top of the table on our way to claiming the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho.

It was Oscar who opened the scoring with the second of his Goal of the Season winners. He was found at a difficult angle by Fabregas, but the way he curled inside the far post with a first-time effort using the outside of his boot was simply sublime.
