Cole Palmer has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for April after scoring seven goals in four top-flight matches for the Blues.

The 21-year-old continued his fine form last month and catapulted himself into the Premier League Golden Boot running with two ruthless goalscoring performances at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer's first was against Manchester United. The England international struck a hat-trick – including two stoppage-time goals in front of the Matthew Harding Stand – to help us clinch a dramatic 4-3 victory.

He followed that up with an assist away at Sheffield United before Everton visited west London. Palmer was again in sparkling form and had wrapped up back-to-back hat-tricks at the Bridge inside 30 minutes.

A fourth was added from the penalty spot after the break as Palmer became only the fourth Chelsea player – after Gianluca Vialli, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Frank Lampard – to score on four occasions in a Premier League fixture for the Blues.

Palmer has been nominated alongside Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Arsenal forward Kai Havertz, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, Crystal Palace frontman Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Man City centre-back Josko Gvardiol.
