Cole Palmer's sensational opening goal in our 6-0 victory over Everton has won the Premier League Goal of the Month award for April.

Palmer struck on four occasions during our triumph over the Toffees at Stamford Bridge, with the England international's first the pick of the bunch.

The award is the second Palmer has received for his ruthless Premier League performances in April, with the 22-year-old having also claimed the Player of the Month crown.

Palmer's stunning opener against Everton combined fine team play with individual brilliance.

It was 13 minutes into the contest that the forward received a pass from Malo Gusto, nutmegged Jarrad Branthwaite, and flicked the ball into Nicolas Jackson while working in a tight space on the edge of the opposition penalty area.

Jackson managed to return the ball perfectly into Palmer's path, and the forward guided the ball perfectly into the far corner. It was a strike that gave Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford no chance.

Our No.20's moment of magic set the tone for his and Chelsea's performance. Within 16 minutes of his opener, Palmer had a first-half hat-trick to his name and he then added fourth in the second period.

Jackson also found the net in our victory befoe Academy graduate Alfie Gilchrist wrapped up the win in injury time. The 6-0 triumph is our biggest under Mauricio Pochettino in the Premier League.

Palmer's strike is the first to receive the Premier League Goal of the Month award since Mateo Kovacic's spectacular long-range volley against Liverpool in January 2022.

Congratulations, Cole!
