It was on this day a decade ago Chelsea secured a major coup by signing the venerable Pedro from Barcelona. At that point the most decorated player to ever represent the Blues, the Spaniard went on to enjoy a stellar five-year career at Stamford Bridge.

It was rare for any game to pass Pedro by and in his 206 appearances for us he scored 43 goals and provided 28 assists. So many of those came at significant moments; plenty were of elite quality.

Indeed, of those 43 goals, Pedro scored more with his supposedly weaker left foot (21 to 18), testament to his all-round ability and deftness of touch. Watch his best Blues goals in the video below – you’ll notice the variety of finish and foot involved!

Pedro departed Chelsea in the summer of 2020, at the end of a season elongated by the pandemic, and in which he captained the Blues for the first time and brought up 200 appearances for the club.

‘He’s been an incredible servant,’ then head coach Frank Lampard said after Pedro’s last game in a Chelsea shirt. ‘The impact he has had here has been huge.’

Alongside the goals, the facts and figures also help do justice to the Chelsea career of Pedro, who is still going strong with Lazio in Serie A aged 38. Here are some of the best!
