Eve Perisset has called on Chelsea Women to make a swift return to winning ways when we resume our WSL campaign at Leicester on Sunday.
The Blues were defeated 1-0 by Manchester City before the international break. Gareth Taylor's side moved to the top of the table after a 2-1 victory over Everton on Saturday, but we have the chance to reclaim first position with a win on Sunday evening.
Next up for Emma Hayes’s Blues is a trip to the East Midlands to take on Leicester City, with Perisset searching for a valuable three points against a tricky Foxes side.
‘I’m expecting a very tough game, especially after the international break,’ said Eve. ‘It’s never easy [in this league].
‘Leicester are a very solid team with a lot of attacking quality. The key will be to be solid defensively, impose our collective game, be effective offensively and have fun on the pitch together. It’s very important to win and take three points home.
‘We were very disappointed to lose to City before the international break. We knew it was a very important game for us because if we won, we could have been six points ahead, but we are ready for Sunday’s game against Leicester.’
The French international is coming towards the end of her second season with the Blues and with two domestic trophies already under her belt, Perisset hopes to be lifting more silverware by the end of the campaign.
‘I’m very happy and proud to be in this team,’ added our No.15. ‘I’m learning everyday with such top players around me.
‘We are still playing in four competitions and I hope we will win as much as possible this year. Individually, I hope to bring a lot to the team on the pitch and to be decisive for the side.’
