The games continue to come thick and fast for our Under-21s as they turn their attention to the Premier League Cup knowing a win will put them in the driving seat to qualify from Group D.

Mark Robinson's men have already recorded convincing wins in this competition against Luton Town and Colchester United, and Sunday's game pits the top two sides in Group D against each other.

The PL Cup clash away from home is scheduled to kick-off at 1pm as our young Blues look to take one step towards qualifying from the group as the table-toppers.

In preparation for this game, we spoke with Somto Boniface who is confident the team can get the win they need in this one.

'I am feeling good about the game against Leeds. We are excited to play and show what we can do. Even though we lost to Oxford United in the EFL Trophy, we are ready to bounce back. We do not like losing, but that's how we learn. We want to bounce back quickly and there is no better way of doing that than winning the next game.'

Somto has been involved frequently in recent weeks with the Under-21's, and with this step-up he wants to ensure he is improving.

'As a player, I think I am getting better. I am learning from the coaches and my team-mates. They believe in me, and that is important. I want to continue to grow and help the team as best as I can.'

He continued: 'I have noticed that I sometimes get close to scoring goals, but I want to be better at it. Scoring goals can help the team win games, so I am looking to become reliable in that department.'

Being one of many young players who has played for the Under-18s and 21s, Somto has spoken about how much support and patience the Under-21s coaches have had with him and with the team in general.

'The coaching team have given me the chance to play at this level, and I am grateful for that. It is a big step for me, and I want to show them they made the right choice. I will continue to work hard to keep my place in the team.'

'Being in a team with so many good players is amazing and of course, I want to be a part of the starting line-up every week. It is a challenge, but it will make us all better as a team. We support each other and want to win together.'

Both Leeds and our young Blues have 100 per cent records in group and both will be looking to assert their claim of the number one spot in the group, with Chelsea currently top on goal difference.
