Chelsea Under-21s are hoping for a strong finish to our league campaign as we go into our final away match before the Premier League 2 play-offs, travelling to Crystal Palace for a game that will be shown live on the Official Chelsea App.

Chelsea Under-21s have already secured our place in the end-of-season Premier League 2 play-offs, a spot in the title-deciding knockout stage guaranteed after Monday evening's brilliant 4-0 victory away at Aston Villa.

The Blues still have plenty to play for in our remaining two league fixtures, though, starting with our last away match against Crystal Palace at 7pm on Friday, which you can watch live on the Official Chelsea App.

With third-placed Fulham, who we also face in the Premier League Cup semi-finals, just three points ahead of us in the table, there is still a chance to catch our neighbours and secure a better seeding position for the knockout draw, as well as building further momentum for a crucial stage of the season.

‘Now that we’ve consolidated a play-off place, we want to look at finishing as strongly as possible,' said Under-21s head coach Mark Robinson.

'Realistically the highest we can finish is third, so we want to go on and achieve that.

‘Winning is a wonderful habit. We’ve won six away games on the spin now, going back to December, in which we’ve scored 21 goals and conceded four. We want to keep that run going.’

He knows it won't be easy, though. We face a Crystal Palace side whose own qualification for the play-offs is still very much in the balance, with just a two-point cushion to the teams below them going into this game.

On top of that, Robinson is expecting his team to face the added test of difficult conditions at the VBS Community Stadium, which has already seen games for Crystal Palace's youth and women's teams, as well as League Two side Sutton United, postponed due to a waterlogged pitch recently.

‘Palace always offer a real challenge, physically and tactically, so it is a game we are very much looking forward to,' he added.

‘We know the pitch is going to be difficult, so that is going to throw up an interesting challenge, but I like that. It’s something that the lads are going to face along their pathway at some point.

‘We look to play a possession game, so I’m looking forward to seeing how we adapt to that surface.'
