Chelsea Under-21s’ frantic fixture schedule continues with a trip to Leeds United in the Premier League 2 on Monday, which will be shown live on the Official Chelsea App.

The Blues have been in good form in the Premier League 2 recently, winning all three of our matches in that competition since the start of the year, including an impressive 2-0 victory away at second-placed West Ham United in our last game.

We are now looking to continue that in a run of matches in quick succession, starting with Monday's trip to Leeds United, which kicks off at midday and will be streamed live on the Official Chelsea App.

Chelsea Under-21s head coach Mark Robinson believes his side have already learned some valuable lessons from difficult games over the last month, including the narrow defeat to an older and more experienced PSV Eindhoven side in the Premier League International Cup last eight on Thursday evening, which will help them continue improving over this busy spell.

‘There’s been a lot of real good individual development and I told the boys the thing to take away from the PSV game is that there’s no game we’re going to play now that should hold any fear for us at all, because they were a high-level team,' explained Robinson.

‘We have to take the positives from it and really kick on now. So that’s what we’ll be looking for on Monday.

‘We’ve got a tough schedule, with the Under-18s having a big game yesterday and also the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday, so we’re going to be very limited on players. We’re going to need to make sure the players are fresh to go again as well, because after that tough game on Thursday, now we play on Monday and then Friday and then Monday again.

‘We’ve got three big games now and we want to get two big wins in the league before we face Norwich in the Premier League Cup with the chance to get into another quarter-final.’

Monday's match will also be our second meeting with Leeds in less than three weeks, having drawn 3-3 against the same opponents at Kingsmeadow in our final group stage fixture of the Premier League Cup.

We took the lead three times on that occasion but had to settle for a draw at the end. However, Robinson has already seen improvement in the two high-profile games since, and hopes that will continue and allow his side to take the lead again and hold on to it this time when we face old rivals Leeds on their turf.

‘There was a massive improvement from that draw against West Ham and there was an improvement against PSV too, we just made two errors which cost us that time.

‘There was a real mixture of football on Thursday and it caused them all sorts of problems. We played short, we played in behind them and our own movement was very good. They struggled with that.

‘On the balance we created more chances than PSV and possibly clearer cut ones, so we need to do that again at Leeds, just without the errors.’
