Our development squad play their final game of 2022 tonight in a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Kingsmeadow, a game that will be live streamed on all our platforms.

Mark Robinson's men will be looking to close out the year with a win after an impressive run of form which sees them unbeaten in nine as tonight's game is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm.

Robinson has spoken recently about getting more wins in this unbeaten run but he has also been pleased with his side’s efforts in ensuring defeats are avoided.

Team news

A number of players may be missing for this encounter after recent training involvement with Graham Potter's senior side, meaning that there is opportunity for some younger players to impress in an older age group.

Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall, two players who have impressed so far this season in the PL2, have both been on the bench for Premier League games recently and may miss out at Kingsmeadow as a result.

Last time out

Our last fixture in the PL2 saw us play out a 2-2 draw against Brighton Hove & Albion away from home.

Mason Burstow and Hutchinson scored two goals in two minutes which put us ahead but the home side managed to get two goals of their own in the encounter.

Hutchinson’s goal against Brighton was his fifth in the PL2, which puts him two goals off top spot, and his performances in the month of October as a whole have seen him nominated for the October Player of the Month award

Last fixture against opponents

Our last clash against our London rivals was the final game of last season's PL2 as our young Blues managed to muster a late comeback to beat the team from north London 2-1 at Cobham.

A game that required a win from us to avoid relegation looked beyond reach after Spurs took the lead just after the hour mark.

However, a late rally from the team saw a goal to level from Hall and a late winner from Dion Rankine, which gave us the victory that we needed.

Academy news

In other Academy news, Brodi Hughes has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea, committing the 17-year-old defender to the club until at least 2025.
