There was a comfortable win at Cobham for our development squad, while the under-18s drew in Southampton in mid-week before a win back on home soil brought a positive conclusion to the season's preparations.

Andy Myers’ side welcomed Millwall to Cobham for the team’s final friendly. First half strikes from Thierno Ballo and Dion Rankine had the young Blues comfortable at the break and the cushion was further extended when Myles Peart-Harris and Lewis Bate got in on the scoring act for a comfortable 4-0 win.

Earlier in the week Ed Brand took his Under-18s to Southampton, where forward Malik Mothersille pounced upon a loose ball in the box to ensure the trip to Hampshire provided a positive test, with the end result being 1-1. Crystal Palace were Saturday's visitors at Cobham, Silko Thomas and Bryan Fiabema notching a goal each, which saw the young Blues record another pre-season win.

The development squad now turn their attention to preparations for Tuesday’s season opener in the EFL Trophy, when they will visit Oxford United. Kick-off is at 7pm, (changed from the original time of 7:45pm).
