The 19-year-old had a standout month in April, scoring in three of our four Under-21s fixtures during that period.​

McNeilly began the month on a high by finding the net in our emphatic 4-1 victory against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. He then scored his second goal of the month in our final regular Premier League 2 fixture, a 4-2 win away at Crystal Palace, which secured our seeded place in the play-offs.​

His third goal came in our first play-off fixture in the round of 16, converting from the penalty spot in the Blues' commanding 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers after being brought down in the box.

The forward has been shortlisted for the April Premier League 2 honour alongside seven other players: Everton's Braiden Graham, Newcastle United's Garang Kuol, Manchester City's Divin Mubama, West Ham United duo Lewis Orford and Kamarai Swyer, Nottingham Forest's Jack Thompson and Southampton's Lewis Payne.
