Chelsea have been drawn to play Manchester City in this season’s FA Cup third round.

It is a repeat of our Carabao Cup clash earlier in the campaign, which Pep Guardiola’s side edged 2-0 back in November. The Blues, ball number 12 in tonight’s draw, will travel to the Etihad once again, with the tie scheduled to take place on the weekend of Friday 6 January to Monday 9 January 2023.

It will be our fourth outing following the World Cup break after Premier League games against Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and City, meaning we will face the league champions twice in a matter of days.

The two sides last met in the FA Cup in the 2020/21 semi-final when Hakim Ziyech's goal won a tight affair at Wembley. Prior to that, we beat them 5-1 at Stamford Bridge in the fifth round in February 2016.

We have been FA Cup finalists in five of the past six seasons but only lifted the trophy on one of those occasions, against Manchester United in 2017/18.

Exact fixture details will be confirmed in due course, along with ticket and travel information.
