This weekend marks one year since Chelsea Football Club launched the Pride in our Bridge campaign.
A community-focused initiative, it is designed to strengthen the relationship between the club, fans and residents by reducing the impact of Stamford Bridge visitors on our neighbours, and encouraging a sense of joint ownership between residents and supporters of the stadium and the local area.
Starting with our launch video starring club legend Dennis Wise, and a takeover of banners and posters around Stamford Bridge, this initiative has taken on new life in the year since its inception.
It has led to:
The expansion of the My First Game ticketing scheme at Stamford Bridge to record numbers
The all-new introduction of My First Game to Kingsmeadow
Our first-ever residents' event – the Chelsea FC Residents Open Day
Both digital and offline messaging that has been seen by millions of fans and thousands of local residents
The campaign so far has lived up to its purpose - celebrating the shared history and shared identity of Stamford Bridge and our part of south-west London. We want to continue to recognise the vital role our neighbours play in making our community so special, and for our fans to take pride in the home they share with the local community.
It is about asking Chelsea supporters to look after our residents, treat them with respect, and to ensure behaviour that may negatively impact our community does not take place.
As we look ahead at another year of developing Pride in our Bridge, we will be celebrating the campaign to date around Stamford Bridge and the local area during this weekend's Premier League fixture versus Sunderland.
Please get involved, share the message, and take Pride in our Bridge!
