Christian Pulisic was delighted with his – and the team’s – ‘relentless’ display in USA’s convincing win over Grenada last night.

The Chelsea forward, who captained his country, shone in the 7-1 away victory, scoring and assisting two further goals as USA confirmed their place at the Gold Cup.

‘I thought it was a really good performance,’ Pulisic said after the game.

‘Obviously we had one little hiccup for their goal, but other than that I thought we were relentless and that showed with the amount of goals and chances we created.

‘We wanted to get off to a good start and we did that with the early goal, and from there we never really looked back. It was a really good performance from the guys.’

A huge game against El Salvador is next up for USA and Pulisic has said he’s excited to get back to America and play in front of a home crowd.

‘We’re really excited to go back and play in Orlando,’ Christian added.

‘It’s always nice to play in front of our home fans and against El Salvador, where we’ve had some good matches against them in the past. It will be a tough opponent but one we’re looking forward to facing.’
