The Portuguese winger made his competitive debut as a substitute against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday and tells us about his close friendship with Dario Essugo, the encouragement he has received from Xabi Alonso and the 'family' atmosphere at Cobham.

'We had a good pre-season and I think now it’s about making sure we also have a good start to the season,' he says of his first few weeks as a Blue.

'For me, I just need to help the team. That’s the most important thing – help the team to win. Of course, it’s difficult to come to another country, but this is my job.'
