It is 25 years to the day since Gianluca Vialli the manager masterminded the first trophy success of his time in charge of Chelsea when we lifted the League Cup at Wembley with victory over Middlesbrough.

The idolised but inexperienced Vialli had barely been in the hotseat for six weeks, having taken over from Ruud Gullit in February 1998. His first game as our latest player-manager was the scintillating League Cup semi-final second-leg defeat of Arsenal at Stamford Bridge that booked a meeting with Boro.

Vialli ascended the famous Wembley steps to collect the trophy after we scored twice in extra time to secure a hard-fought 2-0 success in our sixth game in the competition that season.

Here, we are testing you on our whole League Cup campaign in 1997/98, in which 26 different players were utilised. Can you name them all? Believe us, it’s not easy! The answers below are in alphabetical order, and to help you recall them we have listed each player’s nationality and position.

You have 10 minutes. Good luck!
