Chelsea can today confirm that winger Reanna Blades will spend the forthcoming 2023/24 season on loan with Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

The 18-year-old joined Chelsea Academy’s Under-14s and performed impressively at Academy level. She featured for the women's first team against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in 2021 and went on to score in that London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

In October last year, she signed her first professional contract with the club until the summer of 2024 with the option to extend for a further year. Blades scored and was named Player of the Match in the FA Women’s Academy Cup final last season when we overcame Manchester United in Loughborough.

She made her competitive first team debut for Chelsea during our 3-1 victory over Reading at the FA Cup quarter-final stage in March, coming off the bench as a second-half substitute as we took a step closer to the final at Wembley.

For the upcoming 2023/24 campaign, Blades will continue her development with a season-long loan at Lewes. She will ply her trade with the East Sussex outfit who will be competing in the Women’s Championship.

Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Reanna every success during her time at Lewes.
