Captain Reece James has lavished praise on the midfield duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo ahead of the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.

We’re only days away from the showpiece event as we bid to become global champions at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and Reece is looking forward to testing himself against current European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

He knows that the Blues will be in a much better position to take on the Parisians with our midfield dynamos Enzo and Caicedo available. The pair have been crucial to our success this season, with the Argentine enjoying his best spell statistically for goals and assists this campaign, while Moises' performances earned him the club’s Player of the Year award.

Speaking about the qualities his two team-mates bring to the side, Reece is excited for the world to see them on full display on Sunday afternoon.

‘They are two phenomenal players,’ James began, speaking during his pre-match press conference for the final.

‘They are up there with the best midfielders in the world. I think that will be clear on Sunday.

Enzo Fernandez is an amazing player and person. He’s come on so much since he arrived at Chelsea, and he’s a huge part of Chelsea Football Club. He’s a huge player for our team, and they’ll both play a big part on Sunday.’

Even with that pair adding their considerable talents for the Blues, coming up against the current UEFA Champions League holders will be no easy task, but Reece is hopeful that Chelsea will show our own talent.

‘We expect a tough game,’ Reece added. ‘PSG are an amazing team, but we also have an amazing team and we will surprise a lot of people. We have come a long way in our journey from where we started.

‘It’s two great young sides playing against each other on the biggest stage, so I believe we will go toe-to-toe.’
