Reece James, N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic were all out on the training pitch on Monday ahead of Chelsea’s huge Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund.

The Chelsea trio were all absent from the weekend’s team against Leeds United, with James a late omission from the squad due to a tight hamstring.

Reece took part in full training out on the grass, alongside team-mates Pulisic and Kante who have been out with hamstring injuries too.

Graham Potter is aiming to become the second English manager to win five Champions League games in a single season, and the return of either N’Golo Kante or Christian Pulisic to the squad could give him and the Blues a huge boost ahead of the last-16 tie.

Saturday’s goalscorer and standout performer Wesley Fofana was also in training, as were Kalidou Koulibaly and Trevoh Chalobah.

January additions Enzo Fernandez, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk all took part, however the injuries sustained by Thiago Silva and Mason Mount in recent weeks prevented them from taking to the grass.

Cesar Azpilicueta did not feature, while Armando Broja and Edouard Mendy remain longer-term absentees, though Potter last week revealed the latter is nearing a return to team training.
