Romeo Lavia talks about his return to first-team action and our ambitions for the final weeks of the season in an exclusive interview for the matchday programme for tomorrow's game against Manchester United.
After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, our Belgian midfielder has featured regularly since returning to the pitch last month and he's keen to continue on the same path with a key run of fixtures ahead of us.
'It’s very good to be back with the boys, with my team-mates, and also to be back playing at Stamford Bridge,' he said.
'That’s always an incredible feeling. Just to be able to keep gaining these minutes and building some consistency, that’s the most important thing.'
In a wide-ranging interview, Lavia discusses the Belgian influence at Chelsea when he was growing up and his experiences of coming up against the Blues at youth level.
But his focus this weekend is solely on helping us get back to winning ways in a crucial Premier League encounter after a difficult recent run.
'The mindset in the group is that it’s okay to be frustrated because we are competitors and we want to be winning every time,' he said.
'We want to give the fans what they want and what they come to support us for. So the mindset is to set things right and get back to winning ways, because that’s the most important thing at the moment.
'Also, we are still in there. I think the worst thing now would be to think that it’s over, because there are six games, it’s six finals, so we need to give everything.'
Elsewhere in the programme, former Blues goalkeeper Ed de Goey talks us through his time at the club in the years either side of the turn of the century, when we lifted silverware at home and in Europe, as well as competing in the Champions League for the first time.
Europe's premier club competition also features heavily in this week's Over Land and Sea feature, which looks at the German Blues who made their mark at Stamford Bridge.
In addition to all that, there’s the latest from around the club in our regular columns, plus all the info you need ahead of the big game.
