Liam Rosenior highlighted the number of big-game players he has in his squad and the impressive impact made by those coming off the bench in recent weeks, as he prepares his Chelsea side for Tuesday’s semi-final.

The Blues travel across the capital for an all-London Carabao Cup semi against Arsenal. The first leg at Stamford Bridge resulted in a narrow 3-2 defeat, leaving us with a one-goal deficit to overcome at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

We have shown ourselves to be more than capable of mounting a dramatic comeback recently, though, after fighting back from 2-1 behind away at Napoli to book our place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, before going from 2-0 down at half-time to 3-2 up at the final whistle against West Ham United on Saturday.

Both of those dramatic victories were down to excellent second-half performances from the team and aided by impressive contributions from players coming on as substitutes, a trend Rosenior hopes will continue.

‘The players are showing me that they're engaged, the players who are so important and frustrated not to start games are all coming on and having an impact,’ said our head coach.

‘The reality is Arsenal are favourites for the tie – they're a goal up and they're at home, so they'll expect to go through.

‘We need to take it as far as we can and as deep as we can, and the second half, hopefully, will be massive in terms of turning the tie around.'

The stakes are high, with the chance to progress to a Wembley final to compete for the season’s first piece of silverware up for grabs for the winner over two legs.

Thankfully, one thing Rosenior is sure he can count on is the big-game mentality and experience of this Chelsea squad, which they demonstrated by triumphing in both the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup finals last year.

‘My players – I look at maybe Enzo Fernandez who has won a World Cup, as well as the group winning two trophies last year – they can play big games. They can perform in big games, and it's definitely a big game on Tuesday.

‘My concern is resting, as it’s another three-game week. We needed to recover as it’s going to be a really physical game on Tuesday, and then it’s about preparing the team as best I can for that game.’

Hopefully Chelsea come through those preparations with flying colours, ready to take on Arsenal for a place at Wembley tomorrow, before doing it all again for Saturday's Premier League away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
