He may only have been in the post for ten days, but Liam Rosenior says he already feels right at home at Chelsea.

Our new head coach’s appointment was confirmed at the start of last week. Since then, he has watched us play Fulham from the stands and then taken charge of two games, including his first at Stamford Bridge against Arsenal.

It has been a whirlwind start, yet the adaptation process has been made smoother for Rosenior by the people around him. As he explained at his press conference today, he is grateful for the warm reception he has received. It has meant little has caught him unawares.

‘The biggest surprise is how at home I've felt and how welcomed I've been,’ said Rosenior.

‘Honestly, the staff, everybody involved in the club here at the training ground, at the stadium last night, the players as well, they've made my life very easy. They're a great group to walk into.

‘I think a lot of the messages I've given to the players they've taken on board. It was a disappointing result [against Arsenal], disappointing to lose the goals in the manner we did, but a lot of really encouraging signs as well. I just want to keep that going.’

With the games coming thick and fast during a frenetic period of the season, Rosenior is not blessed with time to implement his ideas on the training ground.

Irrespective of that, he is adamant that there are several areas where he can quickly affect positive change.

‘We have to be the best team we can be in this moment,' he explained. 'And I have to go after certain things because I don't have training time. The team are recovering today and I have probably half an hour tomorrow, in terms of the physical load, to work on things and patterns in training.

‘But there are other things I can go after in terms of what we look like, and what we stand for as a group. With the players I have here, we can make meaningful progress in a short space of time.’
