Liam Rosenior praised the collective mentality of his Chelsea side to come from behind and defeat Napoli and is hopeful of delivering more ‘good nights’ after the Blues sealed a spot in the Champions League Round of 16.

Our final league phase fixture was never going to prove easy; Napoli are the reigning Serie A champions and needed to win to ensure their European campaign didn’t end early.

Rosenior’s side established an advantage when Enzo Fernandez converted a penalty, but Napoli responded and went into the interval ahead after goals from Antonio Vergara and Rasmus Hojlund.

A big second-half performance was needed from the Blues – and we delivered at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Joao Pedro levelled with an outstanding 20-yard drive and, with eight minutes remaining, struck again to seal a memorable victory.

The win guaranteed we progress directly to the Round of 16 and Rosenior was delighted with the unity and effort his players showcased across the 90 minutes.

‘I think the most pleasing aspect was the collective mentality of the group to have a positive reaction to a difficult first half,’ the Blues head coach said.

‘To get through in this competition is the most important thing. I'm delighted to do it in this way, in terms of our season, in terms of my time on the pitch with the players, that's going help us so much.

'I'm so proud of the players. Even in the first half, I'm asking them to press and a completely different way, a way they’ve never done before and hardly had any practice at.

‘So that time over the next few weeks will help us get better and improve, but we still need to win games in this moment.

‘I’m trying to do the very best I can with my group, with my stuff, and hopefully we can have more, really good nights like this.’
