Sam Kerr marked her final Chelsea appearance with a goal against Manchester United that saw her equal Fran Kirby’s all-time goalscoring record for the Blues.

The 32-year-old will leave Chelsea when her contract expires this summer, but signed off in customary fashion by getting on the scoresheet to help us claim three points at Stamford Bridge.

Kerr struck what proved to be the winner after 34 minutes to move to 115 goals for the Blues – it saw her join former team-mate and strike-partner Kirby atop our leading women's team goalscorers list.

More than half of Kerr’s final Chelsea tally (65) has come in the Women’s Super League, in which Kerr is also our leading goalscorer. She also struck 20 times in the Champions League, a further 19 in the FA Cup, and struck 12 goals in the League Cup.

Kerr will depart Chelsea after six-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge. She has made 158 appearances, the fourth-most in our history, and has played pivotal roles in 12 of our trophy wins.

‘When I reflect on my Chelsea career and doing it for the last time, I just feel happy,’ Kerr said ahead of her final Blues appearance.

‘Happy that it happened, and I feel so grateful to have played for this club for six years and won as many trophies as we could.

‘The only thing that comes to my mind is remembering all the happy moments, the fun moments, and just feeling really proud.’
