Sandy Baltimore was on the scoresheet in our 7-0 pre-season friendly win against Auckland on Saturday. We sat down with the France international to catch up on her experiences of the trip in New Zealand so far and found out what she was looking forward to when we move on to Sydney...
New Zealand is really, really far away! But it’s a good country, I have enjoyed being here. It was really special to see my face on the mural at Eden Park. I hope it inspires young girls who like to play football.
The training has been really good so far. Pre-season is really important to make sure we are ready for the first game. The sessions have been really intense but good fun.
I was trying to think of my favourite part of New Zealand, but I actually don’t have one because everything has been so good. It’s just been incredible to come here because I’ve never been before!
I’m really looking forward to going to Australia next. It will also be my first time there. I’m excited to see Sydney, maybe do some fun activities. It’s going to be really fun to go to the zoo!
Then we have another game against the A-League All-Stars before we fly home. That will be great too. It’s been an amazing experience in this part of the world.
