Our ‘Say No To Antisemitism’ campaign is among four nominations for the More than Football Award 2019.
The award will honour the best CSR initiative in European football, with the four finalists to present their work at the 13th EFDN Conference in Barcelona on November 19 and 20 before a winner is announced.
The More Than Football Award is awarded to the best club-driven project, which aims at supporting and/or helping the community by tackling specific issues.
The winning initiative needs to show it is more a project than an event, showing continuity and sustainability and lead to positive results benefiting the community and club as a whole.
Launched in January 2018, our ‘Say No To Antisemitism’ campaign raises awareness and educates our players, staff, fans and the wider community about antisemitism in football. Last season it won the Community Project of the Year Award at the London Football Awards, while also being nominated for the ECA Best Community and Social Responsibility Programme.
The long-term initiative forms part of our ongoing inclusion work through the Chelsea Foundation’s Building Bridges campaign. The initiative is supported by the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich.
Everybody at Chelsea is proud to be part of a diverse club. Our players, staff, fans and visitors to the club come from a wide range of backgrounds, including the Jewish community, and we want to ensure everyone feels safe, valued and included.
Joining us on the shortlist are Juventus, Rangers Charity Foundation and Shakhtar Social.
