Zain Silcott-Duberry sets his sights on pushing all the way to the final whistle again at Arsenal in the Premier League 2 quarter-finals, after his late extra-time goal booked our place in the last eight.

Following a nine-goal thriller against Brighton & Hove Albion last Friday, the Blues now look to continue our progress in the quarter-finals of the knockout stages, after that hard-fought 5-4 victory at Kingsmeadow set up an away trip to Arsenal.

The last-16 fixture was filled with excitement and end-to-end drama, as both teams gave their all until the final whistle, when Chelsea emerged victorious.

Mark Robinson’s side had four different goal scorers that evening. Diego Moreira opened the scoring, followed by a Dujuan Richards brace, Jimmy-Jay Morgan's extra-time effort and a sensational winning strike from Zain Silcott-Duberry, who shared his thoughts on the upcoming meeting with the Gunners.

The 18-year-old said: 'Arsenal is a particularly important game. Having faced them fairly recently, we have a loose idea of what to expect.

'Last time we faced this side, it wasn’t a great result. I felt it didn’t reflect our performance or individual efforts. It was disappointing – but that will fuel us for this match.

'I've always liked knockout competitions, they’re make or break. Unlike league fixtures where you can respond in the next weeks, in the play-offs you only have one chance. I like that thrill.'

Silcott-Duberry remarked on the importance of maintaining high energy levels from start to finish. In our Under-21s' last fixture against the Seagulls, the striker sealed the win with an extra-time goal in the 117th minute.

'It’s normal to feel pressure leading up to these games. Last week’s fixture was tough as it seemed like we got the winner, then they would strike back with an equaliser.

'That is why you have to fight until the end. Securing the last-minute winner against Brighton was a great moment. The lead-up play was smooth and the goal just topped it.

'It was only after the game I realised what happened, and it was a proud moment to see my impact on the pitch. Being a substitute, you either struggle under pressure or influence the game. I’m glad I could contribute.'

Silcott-Duberry also highlighted the tight bond among the Under-21s squad, on and off the pitch. The wide player has been at Chelsea since he was a schoolboy, growing up with most of his teammates at Cobham, which makes this chase for silverware even more special for him.

'Football is a team sport, especially here at Chelsea. If we get through to the semi-finals it would be huge.

'Some would say we had a rocky start to the season, but we have bonded well and progressed as a team.

'We know we have to push for more and we will do everything we can to get the result,' Silcott-Duberry concluded.

Chelsea will travel to face Arsenal at Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon, with a kick-off time of 1pm.
