Hannah Hampton, Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, Niamh Charles, Keira Walsh and Aggie Beever-Jones have all been selected in the England squad for the Lionesses’ upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Portugal and Spain.

Sarina Wiegman’s 27-player group includes six members of Sonia Bompastor’s squad but not Lauren James, who misses out because of injury.

England host Portugal at Wembley on Friday 30 May, before travelling to play Spain in Barcelona on Tuesday 3 June. England know that two wins will secure a place in the Nations League knockout phase, which begins in October this year.

Wiegman’s team occupy second place in Group A3 with two wins, a draw and a defeat. They opened their campaign in February with a hard fought 1-1 draw against Portugal in the Algarve, before enjoying a memorable evening when they defeated world champions Spain 1-0 at Wembley.

After this international window, England will play Jamaica on Sunday 29 June before travelling to Switzerland to defend their European Championship title.
