When Chelsea and Manchester United meet, you can pretty much guarantee fireworks. It's a clash for the ages. One that always delivers. But for those of a Blues persuasion, there have been some crackers over the years and we've picked out six of our favourite wins over the Red Devils to reminisce on.

We've taken a look back at some of our best victories over Manchester United ahead of Friday night's clash at Stamford Bridge. Make sure you remember to vote for your favourite win in the poll!

Chelsea 4-3 Manchester United – April 2024

We start with our most recent victory over the Red Devils at the Bridge and our first victory in 13 league matches against United. And we did it in some style!

During the seven-goal thriller, first-half goals from Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer got us off to a good start before the visitors hit back with three consecutive strikes to give them the lead in SW6, heading into eight minutes of stoppage time.

But that's where the theatre started. First, Noni Madueke was brought down inside the box and, after a lengthy VAR check, a second penalty was awarded and coolly converted by Palmer to level the score heading into the 100th minute.

We weren't done there, either. With seconds left, the Blues won the ball back from Man United’s kick-off, earned a corner which was played short to Palmer on the edge of the box – who let fly and saw his effort deflect past Andre Onana to send Stamford Bridge wild.

Cole's hat-trick strike came after 100 minutes and 39 seconds, making it the latest winning goal ever scored in Premier League history!

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United - May 2018

Although the lowest-scoring game on the list, this victory came in the 2018 FA Cup final as we scooped our eighth title in the competition.

It was the third meeting between the Blues and United in the finale of the oldest club competition, and Eden Hazard's decisive goal from the penalty spot ensured we claimed the title on this occasion, adding the FA Cup to the Premier League won by Antonio Conte's men the season prior under the Italian.

Chelsea 4-0 Manchester United – October 2016

On our way to securing the 2016/17 Premier League title, we enjoyed another memorable victory over the Red Devils on what was Jose Mourinho's first return to the Bridge as an opposing manager.

Goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Hazard and an exceptionally composed first Chelsea strike from N’Golo Kante secured a big win for Chelsea, while also ensuring that the travelling side would lose a Premier League away match by four or more goals for the first time since 1999 – another game that appears later on the list!

Chelsea 5-4 Manchester United – October 2012

A game that included nine goals, three penalties, nine yellow cards and three strikes in extra-time – this is another classic between the two sides.

Highlights from the EFL Cup fourth round tie include a nonchalant spot-kick from Hazard to level the contest in the fourth minute of added time, and Ramires rounding United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard in front of the Matthew Harding deep into extra time.

These highlights will be well worth a watch!

Chelsea 3-0 Manchester United – April 2006

Needing only a point to secure a second successive Premier League title, the Blues produced a stunning performance at the Bridge to defeat runners-up United.

William Gallas’ header after just five minutes sent us on our way, before Joe Cole’s memorable skill and finish doubled our lead. That was followed by our third from the boot of Ricardo Carvalho.

Chelsea 5-0 Manchester United – October 1999

The Blues ended United’s 29-game unbeaten streak impressively after putting five past the side that had won the treble just a few months prior.

Gus Poyet had opened the scoring for the Blues after just 28 seconds before Chris Sutton, Poyet once again, a United own-goal and Jody Morris found the back of the net – the final goal from Morris celebrated with a memorable trumpet routine.
