Sjoeke Nusken feels like she is on a roll. She’s started each of our last ten matches in all competitions, beginning with the 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on 8 February.

Nusken has scored five goals this season, adding two assists to that tally, and when we sit down to preview our next match against Everton, she has a big smile on her face.

‘I'm enjoying my football a lot at the moment,’ she grins. ‘I have had the opportunity to play a lot, and I'm just enjoying the moment on the pitch, especially in big games.

‘We are in a good rhythm as a team, so I feel like everyone is enjoying themselves on the pitch.’

The side have looked upbeat in sunny training sessions at our Cobham base this week, but Nusken is under no illusions about the difficulty of the task that lies ahead of them.

With three Women’s Super League games remaining, we need to ensure we finish in the top three of the table to secure a place in the Women’s Champions League for next season.

And having lost to Everton already this season, the midfielder understands the importance of playing at our best level.

‘I think it will be a tough game, like every game in the WSL,’ she continued. ‘Everton are a good team.

‘We need to show our best performance on the pitch to win in the end. It’s a very important game, especially because of qualifying for the Champions League.

‘Everton are very physical. They’ve had some good results recently as well. So we need to be smart defensively. We need to stick together so that they don't have any opportunities to score.

‘And with the ball, we need to create as we did in the last few games, creating good opportunities to score and finishing those chances to take the win.’
