Sjoeke Nusken was one of the goalscorers in our 3-0 win against the A-League All-Stars, and she reflected afterwards on the game and our pre-season tour overall.

The midfielder netted our second in the victory at the Allianz Stadium, which brought an end to our time in Australasia in positive fashion.

It was a typically predatory Nusken finish, with the German showcasing excellent technique to steer her effort on target.

‘As a midfielder you need to go into the box, and I saw the ball coming and I just tried to hit it,’ said Nusken.

‘It was a little bit of luck I think that the ball went in! Overall it was a good game from the team. It was a nice way to end the tour here.’

It’s clearly been a productive ten days or so for Sonia Bompastor and her squad, with bonds forged off the pitch and connections created on it.

It was also a chance to celebrate the global Chelsea family and meet some of our supporters from further afield, something Nusken appreciated.

‘It was really cool to see all the Chelsea fans here on the other side of the world, the atmospheres were really nice, and the support is amazing.

‘We had two good opponents, two good games. We’re happy. We can take the team performances into the next games. Everyone did really good. It’s good to have these two games and to be around the team the whole time to build up our team cohesion.’
