What is Soccer Aid?

Soccer Aid for Unicef is the world's biggest celebrity football match and has been changing children's lives since 2006. Music star Robbie Williams co-founded the event, which has raised £30 million for Unicef since its creation.

Stamford Bridge plays host to Soccer Aid this year. It kicks off at 7.30pm UK time this Sunday 16 June.

Who is playing in Soccer Aid this year?

It's a stellar line-up with plenty of familiar faces in both teams. The past Chelsea stars playing for the England XI are John Terry, Joe Cole, Glen Johnson and Katie Chapman, while Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Ricardo Carvalho will line up for the World XI.

Other famous footballing faces include Michael Owen, David Seaman, Eric Cantona and Roberto Carlos. Usian Bolt, Mo Farah and Niall Horan are among the celebrities involved. The England XI is managed by Sam Allardyce and Susanna Reid, and the World XI by Harry Redknapp and Piers Morgan.

Where can I watch Soccer Aid?

All tickets are now sold out, but you can tune in to ITV1 or ITV Hub on relevant devices. Coverage, presented by Dermot O’Leary and Kirsty Gallacher, starts at 6.30pm. Commentary is provided by Clive Tyldesley, and Rita Ora will be performing at half-time.

Soccer Aid history

This is the eighth Soccer Aid, and the first time a match has been played in consecutive years. It was previously every other year.

England have won five of the seven matches to date, including in a penalty shoot-out last year. Clarence Seedorf is the topscorer with four goals in three appearances.

2019 is the first Soccer Aid with women playing. Along with our former skipper Katie Chapman, Rachel Yankey, Rosana and Fran will also feature.
