Sonia Bompastor has confirmed that she has a full squad to select from for Wednesday night’s Women’s Champions League fixture against Roma, including Lauren James and Keira Walsh.

The duo were missing for Sunday’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace, but will be available for selection for the European action at Plough Lane tomorrow.

The Blues are unbeaten this season and are looking to build on a win against Austria Vienna and a hard-fought draw away at Lyon at the end of September in the competition's league phase.

‘I have the full squad available,’ Bompastor confirmed. ‘It's giving me a lot of headaches, but good ones. I will have to make some decisions about the game tomorrow, but the squad is really competitive right now.

‘Everyone is performing at a high level, so we will have a really good team starting the game and being very competitive.

‘As you could see in the recent games, the players who have come in have had a real impact. So really good news, and it's positive that everyone is available.’

Bompastor also added an extra update about two players who have been out of action longer term. She said: 'Naomi [Girma] just started to come back on the pitch and run again, so it's a good update. And in terms of Mayra [Ramirez], no more updates for now.'

Nine wins and two draws in our opening 11 games give the head coach reason to be optimistic, but she is keen to make sure that her side don't take their foot off the gas.

‘I’m really pleased with the results for sure: not only the results, but it’s also the performances we had in the different games and competitions,’ she continued. ‘Right now, the way we are performing gives us a really good advantage and a big chance to win the games, so we need to keep working hard.

‘We need to keep the right mindset and mentality going into every game and make sure we always put in the best performance possible for us to win the games.’
