Sonia Bompastor says a knee issue kept Aggie Beever-Jones out of our 1-1 draw at Arsenal – and the Blues forward may also miss our midweek Women’s Champions League trip to St. Polten.
Beever-Jones has been in impressive form for the Blues this term, with four goals struck in seven Women's Super League matches.
She was in action for England during the recent international break and netted at Wembley to help the Lionesses defeat Australia.
The Chelsea Academy graduate started last weekend in our win over London City Lionesses at Stamford Bridge, but was absent at the Emirates as the Blues played out a 1-1 draw with the Gunners.
And after the game, Bompastor explained why Beever-Jones hadn’t made the trip to north London.
She said: ‘Aggie was fine to play against London City, but after the game, she didn't really recover the way we wanted to from her dead leg.
'She has basically a collection of blood in her leg, and she can’t bend her knee in the right way. We still have a chance to have her back for the midweek game, but probably more likely for the next weekend against Liverpool.'
