Sonia Bompastor praised an excellent team display against Liverpool, and offered her thoughts on which position Lauren James is most effective.

Chelsea have now recorded back-to-back 2-0 wins in the Women's Super League, seeing us sit third in the table, just one point behind second-placed Manchester United.

After a solid team performance against the Reds, Bompastor praised goalscorer James, who played a full 90 minutes for the first time this season, and gave some detail about building on her current fitness.

'We have been talking along with LJ and with the staff about where her best position is,' said the Chelsea head coach.

'LJ can play many positions, but for me, in this team right now probably the best is left wing.

'But again, I think she can bring something different in other positions. She know how to play different roles. I think when LJ is performing at this level, she's one of the first ones you put in your starting XI. That's important going into the business end of the season to have players, with quality, who are performing.

'The most important thing is to keep LJ as fit as possible because she's been injured sometimes, and this was the first time she played 90 minutes for a while.
So it's important for her also to build on this fitness because she can perform at a really high level and contribute a lot to the performance.'

With three more points in the bag, Bompastor was delighted with how her side backed up last week's victory away at Tottenham with a home win at Kingsmeadow.

'I'm really happy with the result, but also the performance,' continued the Chelsea head coach. 'Especially in the second half. Probably the first half was a little bit like last week. Before we scored, it was a more difficult for us to get into a momentum.

'But as soon as we scored, we were able to control in possession and out of possession.
We didn't concede a lot in the second half. It was a really good performance.'
