Sonia Bompastor says the hamstring injury sustained by Nathalie Bjorn in training continues to be assessed, but the Blues will not 'see her for the next few weeks' as the defender undertakes recovery work at Cobham.

Bompastor was speaking ahead of our Champions League clash with Wolfsburg, which takes place in Germany tomorrow evening.

The Blues earned a place in the knockout stage play-offs last week by defeating Roma at Stamford Bridge, but securing three points against Wolfsburg would guarantee direct passage for Bompastor's side to the quarter-finals.

Ahead of our Champions League clash, Bompastor provided an update on Bjorn, who has not travelled with the squad due to a hamstring issue.

'Nat has picked up an injury in a training session after coming back from the international break,' explained the Blues head coach. 'We are still assessing her to see how long it will be, but we won't see her for the next few weeks.'

Hannah Hampton, fresh off being named The FIFA Best Women’s Goalkeeper, has been included in the travelling squad for Wolfsburg. Yet Bompastor was coy as to whether the England international would be involved on Wednesday night.

'You'll have to wait until tomorrow night to have the answer on Hannah,' said Bompastor with a smile. ' I'm really pleased with Livia (Peng's) performances, and you can see she's growing more and more in confidence with the team. She has had some really good performances.

'We have great goalkeepers here. We have Hannah and Livia, but we also have Becky (Spencer), who is part of our goalkeeping group. I'm glad we have them here at Chelsea.'
