Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor oversaw four wins from four in our opening Women's Super League matches of the season, so it comes as no surprise to learn she has been named WSL Manager of the Month for September.

Bompastor's second season in charge at Chelsea began with a 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, and was followed by a 3-1 win at Aston Villa.

Both of those wins were hard-fought against tough opposition, and our third game of the season saw us battle out a narrow 1-0 against Leicester City at Kingsmeadow.

The floodgates opened a little when we travelled to East London to take on West Ham United, as Aggie Beever-Jones, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Erin Cuthbert and Wieke Kaptein all weighed in with goals in a 4-0 win.

That run of four straight victories in September, in addition to a draw against Manchester United on October 3, means the Blues remain unbeaten in the WSL in the Bompastor era.

Bompastor beat Man Utd's Marc Skinner, Martin Ho of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City boss Andree Jeglertz to be named the WSL’s Manager of the Month for September.

Congratulations, Sonia!
