A squad of 23 Chelsea Women players have landed in Spain this evening ahead of our UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage clash against Real Madrid on Thursday.

The Blues arrive in the Spanish capital for matchday four, where we will be looking to maintain our 100 per cent record in the competition and take one step closer to qualification for the knockout phase.

We hosted Real Madrid at Kingsmeadow a fortnight ago, securing a 2-0 victory thanks to second-half goals from Sophie Ingle and Erin Cuthbert, which took us five points clear at the top of Group A.

There are two absentees from the travelling squad with Pernille Harder continuing her rehabilitation programme at home, while Melanie Leupolz remains on maternity leave.
