Arrive early

Everyone is encouraged to arrive early at the stadium to avoid missing kick-off. Please arrive as early as possible if you are planning on bringing special items pre-approved by FIFA.

Organized tailgating gatherings are not permitted, but fans who arrive early can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere inside the stadium.

Bag policy

Fans may not be aware of the clear bag policy.

To be allowed into the stadium, bags must be made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, and be no larger than 12”x6”x12” (30cm x 15cm x 30cm).

Non-clear clutches or wallets about the size of a hand are permitted, as long as they’re no bigger than 4.5” x 6.5” (11cm x 16.5cm).

Bags that do not meet size or material requirements may be permitted for medical reasons only. A medical certificate is no longer required for oversized bags needed for medical reasons.

For fans with bags that do not meet the bag policy requirements or with restricted items that are not deemed hazardous, storage will be available at the Restricted Item Storage area prior to entry on a first-come, first-serve basis. The service is subject to a fee.

Flags and flag poles

Please note that that flag poles are prohibited.

Small flags, banners and posters are permitted provided they do not exceed 2m x 1.5m (78 inches x 60 inches) and must be made of a low-flammable material. If a flag, banner or poster exceeds these dimensions, it must be approved in advance by event organisers.

Items of a political, offensive, sexual, discriminatory or promotional and commercial nature are strictly prohibited and may result in expulsion from the stadium.

Pyrotechnics

Fireworks, pyrotechnics, smoke bombs or grenades of any kind are strictly prohibited inside the stadium - and in some cases, are illegal. Please do not bring any of these as they are not prohibited and have in the past caused issues including people having their shirts burned.

Transport advice

FIFA has supplied the following information to assist transportation in Philadelphia where we are playing our third Group D game…

Philly PHLASH

The Philly PHLASH is a visitor-friendly public transit service managed by the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation, with 19 stops located near must-see attractions, from Penn’s Landing to Fairmount Park. The PHLASH is only $2 per ride, $5 for a one-day pass, or $9 for a two-day pass (available as an online-exclusive deal for use on two consecutive days). New this year is the $12 family pass. Children four and under, seniors, and SEPTA pass and SEPTA Key holders can ride for free. PHLASH passes can be purchased online, at any Visitor Center location, or on board the vehicle with exact change only.

SEPTA

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is Philadelphia’s local transit agency, responsible for Regional Rail, subways, buses, and trolleys. The city has two main subway lines: the Broad Street Line – which provides direct access from Center City to the stadium district – and the Market-Frankford Line. SEPTA also operates multiple trolley lines that help visitors navigate the city with ease. Beyond the city limits, SEPTA connects Center City to surrounding neighbourhoods and suburbs, extending as far north as Trenton, New Jersey, and as far south as Newark, Delaware.

Amtrak

This is a downtown-to-downtown service between Philadelphia and all major cities along the Northeast Corridor – including New York City, Washington D.C., and Boston. The Northeast Regional and Acela trains both stop at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.

Biking

Philadelphia’s bike-share program, Indego, has over 2,000 self-service bikes and more than 200 stations throughout Philadelphia.

Taxis and ride-share

There are hundreds of licensed cabs in Philadelphia. Some of the most prominent services are Philadelphia Taxi Cab Service, 215-Get-A-Cab, and Germantown Cab Company. You can also download the Uber or Lyft apps to order a car to your location.

Parking

There are more than 40 public parking lots and garages in Center City, in addition to metered street parking. Be sure to read the signs carefully for parking hours, as some streets have time limits or require a permit. To pay for metered parking, you can use the meterUP app or payment kiosks, which accept a variety of payment methods and will issue a printed ticket for you to place inside your windshield.

Fan-led events

One of the official Chelsea Supporters Clubs in the USA, The Philly Blues, is organising a matchday event - taking place at Xfinity from 5pm on Tuesday 24.
