Chelsea Football Club will be staging a pre-season tournament this August with European heavyweights AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen also participating in the 2025 VisitMalta Weekender.

Taking place at Stamford Bridge on Friday 8 and Sunday 10 August, the fixtures give Blues fans the chance to see our squad in action as we complete preparations ahead of the start of the 2025/26 season.

Chelsea kick the weekend off when we take on Bundesliga runners-up Bayer Leverkusen on the Friday evening, in a 7pm kick-off. Newly appointed Leverkusen head coach Erik ten Hag brings his side to London following a summer tour to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The tournament will conclude in SW6 when our men’s team face the Rossoneri on Sunday 10 August at 3pm. The Italian giants welcomed back Massimiliano Allegri as their head coach this summer, 11 years on from his last time at the club, and will complete their pre-season preparations in London following matches in Singapore, Hong Kong and Perth, Western Australia.

The two fixtures follow on from our participation in this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, where having defeated Los Angeles last night, we take on Flamengo and Esperance Sportive de Tunis in our other Group D matches.

Todd Kline, president of commercial for Chelsea Football Club, said: ‘We look forward to bringing the 2025 VisitMalta Weekender to Stamford Bridge this summer as we make final preparations for the 2025/26 season. Hosting AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen provides a high level of competition for the players as they complete their pre-season preparations and the opportunity for the club to roll-out digital ticketing across the stadium.’

Details around ticketing for the VisitMalta Cup will be released in the coming weeks. To register your interest, please click here
