Raheem Sterling’s expert free-kick against Newcastle has deservedly been named as Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for November.

The winger found the top corner from just outside the area at St James’ Park, leaving Nick Pope with no chance in the Magpies goal. You can watch Sterling’s effort back in the video below.

Sterling’s stunner proved to be in vain, as we lost the contest 4-1 on Tyneside, but the strike was the clear winner in our Goal of the Month poll, as voted for by supporters on the Official Chelsea App and website.

Raheem’s free-kick earned 64 per cent of the vote, way ahead of Thiago Silva’s goal against Manchester City in second and Sam Kerr’s strike against Paris FC in third, with those efforts claiming 16 and eight per cent respectively.

Another Sterling effort, his strike against Blackburn, was also in the running, with strikes from Lauren James and Tyrique George completing the set.

Congratulations, Raheem!
