Joao Pedro’s spectacular overhead kick against Nottingham Forest has been voted as Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for May.

The striker notched in injury time in the 3-1 home defeat to the Reds, expertly taking down Marc Cucurella’s nod down on his chest before acrobatically firing past Matz Sels with a wonderful overhead kick.

Although the goal meant nothing in context of the game that day, it’s a strike that will live long in the memory for the Chelsea fans due to its nature and capped off a fine first season in SW6 for the Brazilian.

He was the clear winner of the men’s Goal of the Month award for May, earning a whopping 68 per cent of the vote.

For context, his nearest opponent was Enzo Fernandez and his goal against Tottenham which secured 21 per cent of the vote, with Cole Palmer’s strike against Sunderland claiming the final podium slot with six per cent.

Congratulations, Joao!
