In November, three supporter advisors to attend Club board meetings were announced. One of those advisors has now changed.
Gary Beckwith, a regular at Stamford Bridge for 55 years, has become the supporter advisor representing the Fans’ Forum following the resignation of Tim McGeever. On the Fans’ Forum, Gary represents over-65s having supported Chelsea since childhood.
The appointment of the advisors is to ensure supporter sentiment is considered as part of the Club’s decision-making process. In addition to the advisor selected through the Fans’ Forum, one is chosen through diversity and equality representatives on the Fans’ Forum and Chelsea Pride, and one is from unofficial supporters’ groups, elected by season ticket holders and members from candidates put forward by the groups.
Gary joins Tracy Brown and Neil Beard who are the other supporter advisors.
Tracy, selected through the diversity and equality representatives, has been a Chelsea supporter for over 30 years and is the chair of Chelsea Pride, the LGBTQ+ supporters’ group for Chelsea.
Neil is elected to represent unofficial supporters’ groups. He has followed the team home and away and in Europe for many years and was elected vice-chair of the Chelsea Supporters Trust on its launch.
