Want to know which two players Tammy Abraham idolised as a youngster? Well, head over to The 5th Stand app now and you can find out!
The striker, our current top scorer, has been kicking off a brand new exclusive video series on our official app called ’90 seconds with’ and revealed the names of the two forwards he looked up to as a child, even though one was associated with a London rival of ours.
That man is Thierry Henry, the Arsenal and France legend, who has today been appointed as the head coach of Montreal Impact and Tammy explains why he’s always been a fan of Henry.
‘He was one of my biggest idols growing up,’ explained Abraham. ‘I loved his style, the way he played and the way he carried himself on the pitch.
‘I even loved his goal celebrations! They were really cool and he’s just someone I’ve always looked up to.’
But what about the other player that Abraham took a shine to in his younger days? Well, that forward is Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo who also played in the Premier League earlier in his career, and Tammy has revealed that he would love to meet him one day!
‘The other player would be Cristiano Ronaldo,’ added the 22-year-old striker. ‘I’ve grown up loving him and it’s amazing that he’s still going strong today.
‘He’s hardworking and so professional. He looks like a nice guy, even though I’ve never actually met him myself, and he looks like the sort of person that just wants to win, which is a mentality I have.’
You can find out more about Tammy’s character in the exclusive feature, which is available to view on the Chelsea app now.
