There are six changes to the side that lined up to start the FA Cup final a week ago, including a welcome return to action for N’Golo Kante.
Many of the alterations have been forced upon Frank Lampard, with Jorginho and Marcos Alonso suspended alongside injuries to a host of others.
It means the Blues revert to a back four, with Andreas Christensen returning to partner Kurt Zouma in central defence. Reece James and Emerson start at full-back in front of Willy Caballero.
Tammy Abraham leads the line up front supported by Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi, the latter making his first start since the opening day of February. Ross Barkley is in midfield alongside Mateo Kovacic and Kante, who is tonight’s captain.
There are milestones for two Chelsea Academy graduates, with Christensen making his 100th Blues appearance and Abraham his 50th in all competitions.
