We continue our numerical review of the 2025/26 campaign by looking at the notable facts and figures registered by Chelsea players during the season, with the help of club statistician Paul Dutton...

Joao Pedro’s brilliant debut campaign

Brazilian Joao Pedro was involved in 20 Premier League goals (15 goals, five assists). He is the sixth player to reach 20 goal involvements in his debut season for the club, after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (32 in 2000/01), Eden Hazard (20 in 2012/13), Diego Costa (23) and Cesc Fabregas (21) in 2014/15, and Cole Palmer (33 in 2023/24).

The forward is the 32nd Chelsea player to score 20+ goals in a season in all competitions, and the 11th in the Premier League era. Kerry Dixon, Frank Lampard and Bobby Tambling all hit that total in five separate seasons.

The former Brighton man is also the 21st player on the list whose tally excludes penalties.

After finding the net against Brentford (h), Crystal Palace (a) and West Ham (h), Joao Pedro is the first Chelsea player to score in a manager’s first three Premier League games in charge.

Record-breaking Estevao

Against Ajax, Estevao Willian (18y 181d) became our youngest Champions League scorer, beating the record held by Marc Guiu (19y 291d) for just 33 minutes! Before that game, Reece James (19y 332d) held the record after scoring in a 4-4 draw with Ajax in 2019.

The Brazilian scored eight goals in all competitions for Chelsea this season - the most by a teenager for the club in a season in the Premier League era.

Against Barcelona, Estevao (18 years 215 days) became the third teenager, and second-youngest, to score in each of his first three Champions League starts, after Kylian Mbappe (18y 113d) and Erling Haaland (19y 107d).

Estevao became the youngest player in Premier League history to assist a goal for Chelsea (18y 120d v West Ham away).

Reggie Walsh, aged 17y 2d, became our youngest Champions League debutant in the win over Ajax. The record previously was held by Dominic Solanke 17y 38d in October 2014 against Maribor.

In Marc Guiu (19), Estevao Willian (18) and Tyrique George (19), Chelsea became the first side in Champions League history in which three different teenagers scored in a single match (v Ajax).

Against Wolves in the League Cup, we became the first Premier League side of all time with four different scorers aged 21 or younger in a match in all competitions: Andrey Santos (21), George (19), Estevao (18) and Jamie Gittens (21).

And finally...

Alejandro Garnacho scored a brace in consecutive substitute appearances – against Cardiff City (Dec 2025) and Arsenal (Jan 2026). No Chelsea player had ever achieved that and, in fact, only 19 Blues have ever scored two or more goals after coming off the bench.

Pedro Neto’s hat-trick against Hull in the FA Cup was the first by a Chelsea player on a Friday since George Hilsdon scored three against Middlesbrough in January 1909, and the first ever by a top-flight player in a match on Friday the 13th.

Against Wolves away, Cole Palmer became the first Chelsea player to score four Premier League hat-tricks, moving ahead of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard (all on three).

Palmer is also the first player in Premier League history to score three hat-tricks in the first half of a match - Everton home (16 min hat-trick) and Brighton home (ten minutes), both in 2024, and Wolves away (25 minutes).

Robert Sanchez’s assist for Joao Pedro at Newcastle was the fourth time a goalkeeper assisted a Premier League goal for Chelsea, and first since Petr Cech for a Didier Drogba goal against Tottenham Hotspur in December 2010.
