Estevao Willian became the youngest Chelsea player to register a Premier League assist when he fashioned Enzo Fernandez's goal against West Ham – and the Brazilian beat several notable Blues to claim that record.

It was a full debut to remember for Estevao at the London Stadium, as he marked his first start for Chelsea by dashing to the byline and cutting the ball across the six-yard box for Fernandez to score our third goal in a 5-1 thrashing of the Irons.

By doing so at the age of 18 years and 120 days, the Brazil international claimed his first club record, as he was 27 days younger than the previous holder.

And to mark the winger's landmark moment, we look back at the nine other youngest players to have claimed a Premier League assist for Chelsea.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 18 years, 147 days

The man who had his record beaten by Estevao was Chelsea Academy graduate Hudson-Odoi.

The winger also claimed his first assist on his maiden Premier League start, teeing up Olivier Giroud for the opening goal against Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018/19. Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek made the final score 3-0.

It was a crucial victory in achieving UEFA Champions League qualification that season, in a tight three-way fight with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Neil Shipperley – 18 years, 164 days

Shipperley went one better on his first start for Chelsea, which was a home tie against Wimbledon in April 1993.

The Blues went into the last 10 minutes of the game with a narrow 2-1 lead before Shipperley set up John Spencer to give us breathing room, but he wasn’t finished there.

Four minutes later, their roles were reversed, as the full debutant found the net himself from a Spencer pass, meaning Wimbledon’s late goal was just a consolation in a 4-2 victory.

Jon Harley – 18 years, 191 days

Another player to come through the ranks of our Academy, Harley was thrown straight in for his senior debut as part of a youthful line-up for a trip to Derby County, which came three days after the first leg of a European Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final in Italy against Vicenza.

He made a decisive contribution, though, providing the cross for Mark Hughes to head in the only goal of the game. It gave Gianluca Vialli his first away league win as player-manager.

Lucas Piazon – 18 years, 338 days

Estevao isn’t the only Brazilian on this list, thanks to Piazon’s contribution back in December 2012. His Premier League debut proved to be the last of his three appearances for Chelsea in total, but it was certainly eventful.

Two days before Christmas, the Blues were already 4-0 up against Aston Villa when Piazon was introduced from the bench. Less than a minute later, with his first involvement, he teed up Ramires to make it 5-0. Four minutes on and he played in compatriot Oscar, who was brought down and scored from the spot.

By stoppage time, the Blues led 8-0. So, when Piazon was fouled in the box, he was encouraged by his Blues team-mates to take the penalty. But Piazon was denied a fairytale ending as Brad Guzan saved his effort.

Romelu Lukaku – 19 years, 0 days

A young Lukaku was handed his first Premier League start in our last fixture of that competition in 2011/12, as Roberto Di Matteo rested players ahead of our trip to Munich for the UEFA Champions League final.

Our 2-1 victory over already relegated Blackburn Rovers was more routine than the scoreline suggests, being effectively over when we went in for the break with a two-goal lead.

The first of those goals was headed in by John Terry, who rose highest to powerfully meet a Lukaku cross.

Tyrique George – 19 years, 21 days

The only other current Chelsea player on this list, alongside Estevao, George got his first Premier League assist to round off an emphatic 4-0 home win over Southampton last season.

He was one of four Academy graduates involved at the Bridge that day, the winger coming off the bench to replace Pedro Neto with 20 minutes remaining.

George helped complete the scoring when he cut a pass back from the byline to allow Marc Cucurella to slot past the keeper.

Jody Morris – 19 years, 139 days

In the final game of his third season as part of our senior squad, Morris registered his first Premier League goal and assist on the same day.

That condemned Bolton Wanderers to a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge and, more painfully, relegation on goal difference.

In contrast, it was all smiles for Morris, as his brilliant through-ball enabled Vialli to give us the lead, and he ended Bolton’s hopes himself by scoring our second on the counter in the final minute.

Carlton Cole – 19 years, 161 days

The striker came off the bench against Manchester City in March 2003 to help complete a thumping 5-0 victory, as we closed in on Champions League qualification.

Cole was introduced shortly after we went three goals ahead, and made his impact with a quick exchange of passes with Frank Lampard, which ended with the latter tucking the ball past Peter Schmeichel to score.

Samuele Dalla Bona – 19 years 258 days

Having made his Premier League debut against the same opponents six months earlier, Dalla Bona got his first assist in that competition in a 6-1 thrashing of Coventry City.

An early red card for Coventry goalkeeper Chris Kirkland opened the floodgates, as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink got his first hat-trick for the Blues, and then added a fourth goal for good measure. Gianfranco Zola and Tore Andre Flo were the other Chelsea names on the score sheet.

Dalla Bona’s long ball set up his fellow Italian for the first of those, which Zola chested down and finished confidently.
